Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro

Why Buy Windows 8.1?

Not every program release is going to be a success. Even a company with an incredible record of home-run releases can strike out occasionally. That’s what many felt they did with the release of Windows 8. It was, in many ways, a revolutionary upgrade over previous editions, but it changed too much too quickly and left many feeling things just didn’t quite work the way they should.

With the release of Windows 8.1, users will finally enjoy an operating system that includes all the best parts of Windows 8 with the adjustments users demanded to provide the functionality they were initially looking for.

If you are looking for an operating system that includes a focus on touch-based navigation, quality apps, and an overall quality, stable experience, Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro (single License) has all you are looking for.

Want to keep browsing for a better Windows product? We have plenty of other Windows 8.1 and other Windows options for you to consider.

Windows 8.1 Features

  • The return of the Start menu. The central complaint against Microsoft Windows 8 was the rash elimination of the Start menu. As perhaps the quintessential feature of Windows over the years, Microsoft quickly learned it had made a mistake, one they have now corrected with the Windows 8.1 release.
  • Easier app navigation. Modern computing is really all about organizing apps. Windows 8.1 gets the most out of this navigation by placing apps front and center on the desktop in the Metro tile design debuted with Windows 8. This places everything in a faster, easier to find system for quick switching between your programs. The tiles on the desktop can be organized and changed based off of the individual preferences of each user.
  • New interface design options. While there are more important elements than the look of an operating system, considering how much time you spend staring at it, it is still nice to have a design you like. Windows 8.1 includes new themes and backgrounds that allow users to adapt the interface to their style preferences.
  • Multitasking windows. Run up to four apps at once on your screen so that you can switch between different apps with ease, monitor changes, and add and remove elements from each program as you go.
  • Universal apps for a universal experience. Windows 8.1 integrates the universal apps concept from Windows 8, allowing users to use apps that function the same on different types of devices, so that there is never a learning curve when using an app first on a desktop and then on a tablet.
  • Apps from within apps. Previous editions required users to open one app at a time. Now, users can open apps from within their apps, so they can edit a photo in one app and instantly access a social media platform to post it from within that initial app.
  • Touch-based navigation. One of the great develops of Windows 8 was the focus on the touch-based user experience. That focus has continued in Windows 8.1, which all features and functions designed to allow users to navigate in either the traditional way or by touch.
  • Everything you need in the Windows Store. The Windows Store got a design overhaul so it’s easier than ever to browse and find all apps and media options you need in a single location.
  • Learning autocomplete. Autocomplete of questions and text is an incredibly useful tool that speeds up the writing process on any device. The limitations, though, are that dictionaries often fail to appreciate the kind of words users employ. The autocomplete in Windows 8.1, however, avoids this issue by using Bing to remain up to date with all the latest slang and jargon users are writing.
  • An interactive tutorial for fully appreciate the OS. Microsoft wants you to get the most from your operating system, so it has included a fully interactive tutorial to make sure you know everything you can do in Windows 8.1.
  • A return to popular media programs. This edition doesn’t just see the return of the Start menu, it also reintroduces the very popular Windows Photo Viewer and Windows Media Player. Now, users can return to the programs they have grown accustomed to for organizing their photos and playing their audio and video files.
  • Optimized for OneDrive. Most users aren’t aware just how much they need the cloud these days. With Windows 8.1, they’ll quickly begin to appreciate all the cloud can do for them. Now, Microsoft’s cloud program OneDrive is incorporated into the operating system, making it easier to save, share, and access files and documents through the cloud, expanding the ability to move between devices.
  • Keep your files hidden from other users. With the new Transparent Device Encryption, files aren’t just encrypted to keep them safe, they are invisible to all other users until the owner signs in.
  • More security with better Fingerprint access. Increasingly biometrics are the preferred form of security for data and devices. Keeping up with this development, Windows 8.1 has improved Fingerprint-based access to the device.
  • Support for 3D Printing. As more and more users are turning to the incredible capabilities of 3D Printing, Microsoft has included support for this in Windows 8.1.
