Features of Microsoft Access Office App 2007
Microsoft Access Office App 2007 offers extensive new capabilities for users who make it easier than ever to create tables, add data, and reorganize tables, reports, and more. Whether it's something as simple as adding fat to the data in a cell or adding a photo to a database or something more complicated, such as creating fields with multiple values, Access 2007 provides all the tools needed to store your data store and analyze quickly and easily, and efficiently.
New user interface, including Ribbon Access, gets an important face lift that makes it much easier and more intuitive to use. The familiar ribbon that is on all Office programs now appears for the first time in the 2007 edition. Furthermore, the overall design of Office Fluent limits the tasks to only those that are relevant to a specific task, saving the user time.
Creating simpler tables and entering data - Access 2007 detects every type of data that you enter (for example, dates, numbers, or text) and continues to add fields based on that data. You can now copy and paste tables from Excel to Access and automatically set the fields to the correct data types.
Create tables and more with a click-that is not the only way that Access 2007 improves creating a table. You also have new Quick Create commands in the ribbon. In the Make Ribbon section, you can click on different forms that come with controls and images that are already ready for use.
New views provide new tools: Access provides several new view options that make it easier for you to develop, report, and organize your data. Among which:
Layout view simplifies reports: Customize forms and reports more easily and quickly with the layout view that lets you make changes to size and alignment, among other things, without switching between live data and design view.
Report View filters reports: Report View offers so much more than Print Preview. Now you can filter data so that you only print the data you need, all by simply right-clicking and making your filter choices.
Navigation panel view: a general overview of tables, reports, forms and queries with the navigation pane. From there you can reorganize and regroup different objects, so that all related reports are combined with the table to which they refer.
See how data impacts a report as it is being fed in - Along the same lines as the above views, you can now see how data appears in a report as you place it in the database. This saves a lot of time, because you can immediately change the report layouts with the report designer, instead of completing the data entry and creating the whole report to see how it will look.
Easier date entry with date picker-A small improvement, but a useful one, Access 2007 now includes a pop-up calendar to quickly select data. You can turn it off or on, depending on how you feel comfortable.
Rich text support. Sometimes data has to be more than simple text. With Access, you can now offer more flexibility and emphasis by integrating rich text options into your data entry. Now you can make or underline everything you write in the program in bold or italic.
Read data more easily with alternating row color - Another useful new visual function is the ability to easily use alternative background rows, so that data is more noticeable. This was possible in previous editions, but only with code. Now it is only the click of the Alternate Riser button in the toolbar.
Save attachments with compression Access 2007 lets you store a wide variety of files in your database, including documents, spreadsheets, photos, and other images. If the file has not yet been compressed, Access compresses it so that the file size of the database is not inflated.
Powerful filters to sort data. Access makes it easy to sort on different data types, such as data, text and numbers.
