Microsoft Project 2016 ESD Program
With new support for Agile project management that includes both the Kanban and Scrum methodologies, Microsoft Project 2016 emerges as a full-blown 21st-century project management applications. Microsoft has focused on making project management software more straightforward to use, making project management easier to do, and making project progress easier to communication in Microsoft Project 2016.
Agile project management is currently the industry standard for planning, scheduling, and completing projects. While the Scrum methodology is dominant in Agile project management, another methodology, Kanban, is gaining ground among project managers. As a result, support for both of these Agile methods is included in Microsoft Project 2016.
Microsoft Project 2016 has a new look and design that makes the whole process of planning, scheduling, communicating progress of, and completing projects much more intuitive and much easier to do. New drop and drag capabilities are now included as are new ways to visualize each part of the project for a snapshot of where things are. This enables you to be able to see potential issues and address them right away, ensuring more successful and on-time project completion rates.
In Microsoft Project 2016, you can create and maintain projects, assign tasks and resources, follow and analyze progression, and communicate with others about project statuses.
The timeline in Microsoft Project 2016 has been significantly improved to have a more visual interface, enabling you to see the whole project in a snapshot, or in detailed task view. Additionally, the ability to see multiple timelines at one is a new feature in Microsoft Project 2016. Now if you need to share just the timeline(s) for a summary report to clients and stakeholders, you can include it in an email Microsoft PowerPoint, or Microsoft OneNote without having to export the whole project plan.
User-friendliness has also been part of the overhaul in Microsoft Project 2016 ESD. Among the vast array of Microsoft’s productivity programs, Microsoft Project has always been a little less intuitive out of the box, so to speak, than say, Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel.
To help make Microsoft Project 2016 more comfortable to use and easier to learn, Microsoft has added Tell me what you want to do…, a new feature that is in all Microsoft Office 2016 programs. From a ribbon at the top of your Microsoft Project window, Tell me what you want to do… is a textbox that lets you enter a task you want to do. You will get a drop-down menu for that task where you can choose an option from a list of the ways to do it. When you select an option, step-by-step directions for completing that task will be given.
Microsoft Project 2016 ESD enables your business to successfully plan, manage, and complete projects, on time, in the budget, and to the customer’s specifications.
